Vehicle Certification (Homologation)

With extensive experience in obtaining Australian whole vehicle type approval based on European homologation,  ACCE provides independent advice regarding vehicle homologation and testing for the Australian market.   ACCE is also a registered test facility able to perform tests based on Australian (ADR) or alternative test procedures.

General Information

Australia has a national system for regulation of vehicle safety based on numerous Australian Design Rules (ADRs). Approvals are only issued for whole vehicles.    In some cases the ADRs parallel Directives of the European Community (EC and EEC) and United Nations ECE Regulations.  As a result it is normally possible to prepare a Australian type approval application based on European homologation without additional tests, particularly for motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.

Vehicle registration and in-service regulation is managed by the various States based on regulations that are in the process of being unified across the Nation.
